Mark Hanson, Partner
Mark was born and raised in a small logging town in Northern California, McCloud, CA. He was a fourth generation McCloudian in a town of 1,600 people and 100 kids in his high school. Mark is extremely grateful for being raised in McCloud with small-town values, and he still has family and friends there.
Over the past 18 years, Mark Hanson has entitled and developed 3.4 million square feet of commercial, 12,000 residential homes, $305 million in industrial acquisitions, and the acquisition, design, and construction of 4,563 acres of environmental mitigation properties.
In 2022, Mark and his wife Kathryn moved their family from California to Arrington, TN, to give their three kids the similar small-town values Mark was raised with, and to have a positive impact on the greater Nashville region with CLQ Land’s investments
Cody Bass, Partner
Cody brings $50M+ in closed land transactions and a proven track record in site selection, underwriting, and deal structuring across Tennessee and the Southeast — making him the driving force behind CLQ Land's acquisition success.
Before real estate, Cody spent 15 years playing professional hockey. The game taught him something that carries into every conversation with a landowner: respect the person across from you, play with integrity, and find a way to win together. That code doesn't leave you when the skates come off.
Landowners who meet with Cody consistently walk away feeling heard. His approach is simple — understand what matters to the seller, structure a deal that works for everyone, and leave the community better than he found it. No pressure. No games. Just honest conversation and a handshake you can count on.
Greg Wallace, Vice President of Estimating
Greg is CLQ Land's secret weapon on the numbers side. When a site goes under contract, Greg is the first call — delivering fast, accurate estimates that tell the team exactly what it costs to build before CLQ ever commits a dollar.
Greg brings 20+ years of heavy civil and land development experience across the Southeast, with a career that spans estimating and managing over $350M in bid work, leading a water infrastructure contract for Metro Nashville worth $50M+, and growing a heavy civil division from $900K to $20M in revenue in just three years. He knows dirt, pipe, and what things actually cost in this market — not what a spreadsheet guess says they cost.
A Murfreesboro native and MTSU grad, Greg played basketball at the University and still carries that competitor's mindset into every bid. He and his wife are raising their three daughters in the same community where he grew up — which means he's not just estimating projects, he's building in his own backyard.
At CLQ, Greg's turnaround speed and field-level accuracy are a direct competitive advantage. Builders and landowners get real numbers fast — and that matters when deals move quickly.
Morgan Lawler, Vice President Development
Morgan has overseen the development of 2,000+ residential lots across large-scale residential and civil projects — and at CLQ Land, he's the reason those lots actually get built.
Where most land companies stop at the contract, CLQ starts construction. Morgan leads that charge. With in-house grading and utility crews, heavy equipment, and full entitlement capabilities under one roof, CLQ isn't a land flipper — it's a vertically integrated development firm that controls the process from raw ground to finished lot. Morgan is the engine behind that.
His focus is simple: move dirt, pull permits, and deliver finished product on time without cutting corners on quality or community impact. Landowners, builders, and municipalities trust that when CLQ commits to a project, Morgan and his crew will see it through.
